Service Description

This course is the initial segment of a three-part, unaccredited Certificate Course in Inspirational Art offered on a part-time basis. If you remain dedicated, completing this course will qualify you to teach the Inspirational Art curriculum as an associate of the Glastonbury School of Art. This course offers a unique perspective on creativity, addressing questions often overlooked by typical public institutions, while emphasizing the essential aspect of our spiritual existence and our roles as spiritual beings on this planet. We will engage in carefully crafted exercises that draw on practices utilized by professional artists for centuries, aiming to involve not just our bodies and minds, but also our souls in the creative process. The goal of this program is to collect and share insights from artists, including myself and many others, with the general public, bypassing the constraints imposed by public institutions, galleries, and personal creative barriers. In this first section, you will receive an introduction to basic drawing and painting techniques, a presentation on the physical and spiritual theories of perspective, and insights on the use of elements and self-observation in fine art. This twenty-seven-day course begins on Friday, September 18, 2026. The program, titled "Introduction to Inspirational Art," will take place over three days each month—two in the studio and one online—specifically on Fridays and Saturdays from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM in the studio, and on Wednesdays online from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. As a part-time course participant, you have the flexibility to attend on different days if you are unable to come when originally scheduled, provided there are available options, or you may choose to postpone your lesson until a later date. Classes will be conducted at the Glastonbury Art School studio, with attendance limited to a maximum of six participants. A one-hour lunch break is included, and we will start with two groups of part-time students. The total cost for the part-time course is £1080 per person, making it suitable for 16+ adults of all skill levels. The mediums covered in this course will include graphite, charcoal, colored pencils, oil pastels, watercolor, and oils. Some materials will be provided, along with unlimited tea and biscuits; however, students are encouraged to bring their own art supplies as well. Payment options are available online, by phone, in cash prior to the workshop, or via bank transfer.
