'Love' by Ioannis Antoniadis
'Love' by Ioannis Antoniadis

Hello out there, dear subscribers.

The weather is holding well, and there isn't anything to complain about British weather so far, especially in comparison to Greece, where temperatures have reached 42°C, which is too hot for my liking.

Glastonbury is still … Glastonbury, and we are all still as vibrant and exuberant as you remember us from your last visit.

I also feel that we all got a bit wiser with all those things happening across the world. At least I feel wiser.

As I grow older, I am focusing on numerous themes that resonate more deeply with my adult heart. In some ways, the desire to leave a legacy for my family that reflects my love for them has become increasingly significant, a sentiment shared by many of my older students. Therefore, I believe this is related to my age.

In the picture above, you can see the latest example of this type of work. This painting was made with watercolour pencils and coloured markers on paper. In the picture is my daughter, rather young, wearing an Easter hat. For the background I copied one of her very early paintings that she did for me.

I hope you agree with me. What purpose does creating serve if it doesn't bring you closer to the things you cherish most? For me, my art isn't a celebrity thing or survival. It is my way to reach out to the world and beyond.

On another note, we currently have scaffolding outside the gallery. In case you are asking, yes, we are redecorating the building finally. I am so excited to see the front freshly painted again. Oddly, more people are coming in with scaffolding than before we had it. Hmmm, maybe I should leave them there for the next five years. What do you think?

Many new paintings for your viewing pleasure if you are around, and if you are lucky, you might get to meet and chat with some of my very talented and fascinating students as they are working.

I truly hope to see you all. Enjoy the rest of summer. x

Ioannis
