HPAG Newsletter May 2025

Hello, out there, my beloved subscribers.

The weather has been excellent in Glastonbury, so people's and especially visitors' moods are at an all-time high.

Mine was great too, until last Sunday, when I had to endure misfortune as I was about to fly to my hometown, Thessaloniki, in Greece, from Stansted airport for a two-week holiday. After a very long and tiring journey to reach the airport, I waited for a few hours for the baggage drop belt to open for my very early flight. As I walked into the large hall area, I was confronted by a massive crowd of thousands of travellers who were stacked together and unable to move an inch due to an IT failure of the entire airport system. After waiting for over three and a half hours, desperately trying to drop my suitcase, I found out that my flight (Ryanair) had left almost empty in order to avoid paying compensation for the delay. As you understand me and another 10000 people, we lost our flight, and I had to return back to Glastonbury.

All is well; as they say, what doesn't destroy us makes us stronger. I spend my time here painting and especially updating very old artworks, paintings and drawings that I had always wanted to do, but never had the time for. I think you will like the result when you see them. To those of you who know me better, you will know that I like coming back to my works over and over again until I reach the blessed state of satisfaction.

As I mentioned before, I still believe that artworks are better appreciated when they're viewed physically. That means you must come here in person to see them.

I truly hope to see you all.

Enjoy the rest of spring. x

Ioannis
