HPAG Newsletter November 2024

Hello, everybody.
Christmas is coming close, and another year is drawing to an end. This year has been both challenging and incredibly creative for me.
It began with a significant shift in strategy, as my expectations of continuing my career in Greece were dashed yet again. It proceeded in February with a severe case of facial palsy, in which half of my face went frozen and I was unable to see well for over three months because my eyes were inundated with tears. Thankfully, things improved over time, and I can now state that my face characteristics have returned to normal. Once I determined that it was best for me to stay here and spice up my art instead, the idea struck me to boost my game and delve into the field of digital art (an old passion of mine since 1996, believe it or not). I've always like the immersive quality of art and storytelling, so I found the medium really satisfying, and since printing is now fairly amazing, with inks lasting over 200 years, I thought, "Yeah, let's do it. "I must say that I never imagined that with all of those resources and brushes, it would take so long to complete them. In many ways, it takes far longer than traditional work and is significantly more expensive to do.
Every error you make in printing comes at a high cost, and I made a lot of them. Nonetheless, I am pleased with the outcomes, and I hope you agree, as many of you have expressed to me.
I understand how difficult it is to embrace a new medium, and don't get me wrong, I enjoy them all for different reasons. Each of them provides a new perspective on creativity, which I believe belongs to a distinct element. I use them all at various times and for different purposes, yet they all share a common denominator. I entrust them under the protection of the Holy Spirit. Without inspiration, all efforts are futile.
Best wishes
Ioannis Antoniadis
